D365 - Install Plugin Registration

Plugin Registration is used to register and manage plugins. If you prefer not to install it separately, you can directly install and use it within

Step 1.

Visit the NuGet page: Microsoft.CrmSdk.XrmTooling.PluginRegistrationTool 9.1.0.199

Step 2.

On the right side, click Download package.

Step 3.

Rename the downloaded file. Change the file extension to .zip, extract it, and you’ll find Plugin Registration inside the tools folder.

Installation Method 2

Step 1.Create a Folder

For example: D:\Dynamics_365_Development_Tools\pluginsTool

Step 2.Open PowerShell

Open PowerShell and navigate to: D:\Dynamics_365_Development_Tools\pluginsTool

Step 3.Run the Commands

Run this first:

[Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol = [Net.SecurityProtocolType]::Tls12
$sourceNugetExe = "https://dist.nuget.org/win-x86-commandline/latest/nuget.exe"
$targetNugetExe = ".\nuget.exe"
Remove-Item .\Tools -Force -Recurse -ErrorAction Ignore
Invoke-WebRequest $sourceNugetExe -OutFile $targetNugetExe
Set-Alias nuget $targetNugetExe -Scope Global -Verbose

Then run this:

md .\Tools\PluginRegistration
$prtFolder = Get-ChildItem ./Tools | Where-Object {$_.Name -match 'Microsoft.CrmSdk.XrmTooling.PluginRegistrationTool.'}
move .\Tools\$prtFolder\tools\*.* .\Tools\PluginRegistration
Remove-Item .\Tools\$prtFolder -Force -Recurse
